ABOUT

 ABOUT

Located in the foothills of Colorado's Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins is home to our FOSTER-BASED non-profit organization that rescues and provides medical and social care for kittens and cats. We then find them a loving family and ensure they are the perfect match.

Our focus is to spay/neuter, vaccinate, and socialize kittens and cats in over 50 foster homes that we rescue from a variety of at-risk situations such as strays, kill shelters, and overcrowded homes. We pride ourselves in keeping cats out of cages and in normal home settings for an easier transition into their furever homes!

Through a team of veterinary professionals and an in-home foster program, we assess their individual needs to be certain that they are ready to meet their forever homes.

We are partnered with NoCo Cat Cafe in Loveland where some of our kitties are up for adoption! Check them out at nococatcafe.com

Arika McClellan

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Arika moved to Fort Collins in 2009 and has no plans of leaving! She was taught how to love and care for animals of all kinds by her mother, Shelly.

Arika graduated in 2013  from FRCC with a Veterinary Technician degree and has clinical experience, which is very beneficial when rescuing cats! After being involved with Colorado Kitty Coalition since 2014 as a foster, she finally took over the rescue's entirety in 2018 when the founder retired. Since then, the rescue has grown significantly in number of adoptions annually!

When she isn't rescuing kittens, Arika works full time at a Property Management company (unfortunately cat rescue doesn't pay the bills!). In her very little free-time, she is hiking, watching horrible reality TV, or spending time with her husband, dog Etta, and their 3 cats Mac, Phoebe, & Delilah.

Megan was born in Virginia where her love of animals started at a very young age. She moved to Steamboat where she volunteered at the local animal shelter middle school through high school. Megan moved to Fort Collins & fell in love with the town (like Arika, she's never leaving!)

Megan started fostering for Colorado Kitty Coalition in 2018, has even adopted a few CKC kitties, and started processing all adoption applications in 2022.

Megan works a 9-5 job while she is processing our applications and finding the best homes for our kitties! When she isn't working, she enjoys boating with her husband & 3 boys or spending quality time at home with cats Julius, Thomas, Olivia, and Kevin, and dog, Orion.

Foster

Fostering is directly correlated with SAVING LIVES. How cool would it be to say that YOU helped save a kitten or a cat's life? When you foster, you take a homeless animal into your home and provide him or her with love, care, and attention until the cat is adopted.

We rescue a lot of kittens and cats who are in danger from kill-shelters or living on the streets. Even if you only foster one animal, one time, you have made a difference.

Review our foster guidelines, fill out a foster application, or contact us with questions.
